The portrait of local Imaam Al’Mudashiru Alli-Owe made by photographer Mary Beth Meehan is on view at the Museum’s Benefit Street entrance. Join Meehan and Imaam Alli-Owe for refreshments, followed by a discussion about the practice and beliefs of Islam, and about the ways in which art can work in a social context, toward the dismantling of preconceptions. Also featured on the panel will be members of Masjid Ar-Razzak Muslim Community Center of Rhode Island, including Muideen Ibiyemi and other speakers.
Free and open to all.
