Two images from "CITY OF CHAMPIONS: A Portrait of Brockton, Massachusetts" were chosen by Jurors Barbara O'Brien and Philip Prodger for the 2009 New England Photography Biennial at the Danforth Museum of Art, in Framingham, Massachusetts.

In collaboration with the Brockton chapter of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, "City of Champions" was displayed on the exterior of Mary Beth Meehan's childhood home; Brockton residents were invited to share their views on this photographic reflection of "home," and on their experiences of the city of Brockton. The ideas collected will be used to inform Phase II of the project.

Mary Beth's Brockton work on display at Smith College, in conjunction with Symposium entitled: "Rethinking Decline: New Perspectives on Massachusetts Gateway Cities." Topics covered included the role of Public Policy, Architecture, Social Services and Fine Arts in the revitalization of the state's historic post-industrial areas.
