Sept 2011-Sept 2012 "City of Champions" in Downtown Brockton
With a generous grant from the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities, Mary Beth's "City of Champions" installation has launched, with twelve photographs gracing the exteriors of buildings in the downtown core of Brockton, Massachusetts. CITY of CHAMPIONS Outdoor Photo Installation Opens With Walking Tour
On Saturday, Sept. 24, Mary Beth was joined by approximately 100 viewers for on the inaugural walking tour of "City of Champions: A Portrait of Brockton," an outdoor installation of photographs. With support from the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities and Stonehill College, Saturday kicked off the year-long installation. Tours will continue each Saturday at 11:00 during October. MARY BETH WINS 2012 RISCA FELLOWSHIP in PHOTOGRAPHY
Based on a portfolio of images from her Undocumented series, Mary Beth was awarded the 2012 Fellowship in Photography from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
City of Champions: A Portrait of Brockton has been awarded the Crisis, Community, and Civic Culture grant from the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities, to launch a large-scale public installation in downtown Brockton. Mary Beth will collaborate with Stonehill College to mount 12 photographs as 12-foot banners in the city's downtown core, kicking off a year of interactive projects involving the entire community.
