A look into everyday lives

In 1996 Mary Beth launched “Our Times,” a weekly column in The Providence Journal. In a single photograph and short essay, she articulated the value and poetry of lives led every day, outside the newspaper’s headlines. The column won national awards, and was nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize. Mary Beth was invited by photojournalists throughout the country to lecture on her work, inspiring many of them to develop photo columns of their own.
